With 50 teams from DC, MD, VA, PA, and WV and over 700 players participating in the Capitol Hoops Summer League, here are the 2024 All-Summer League selections.

*These games are for the summer league regular season only (minimum 5 games played required)

First Team

Grant Polk – CO-MVP
St. Albans
PPG: 31.4
APG: 3.0
RPG: 9.7
FG %: 55.2
3-pt FG %: 54.5

Grant Polk took summer league 2024 by storm, posting arguably the most eye-popping stats in the history of the league dating back to 2018 when Capitol Hoops took over operations. Kino Lilly (2018 MVP) had a few 40-point games in his day, but Polk’s night-in, night-out production and insane 3-point FG numbers had everyone in awe. Polk accomplished all of this while sharing volume shooting roles with teammate Jaylen Wills, who also scored 30+. Polk posted some of the best shooting splits this year, headlined by 54.5% from 3. In addition to leading the league in scoring at 31.4 PPG, he also led the summer league with 42 3-balls in seven games. Congrats to Polk, who had a magical summer leading St. Albans to a 7-1 record during a season that saw a coaching change a few games in.

Jaylen Wills – CO-MVP
St. Albans
PPG: 30.3
APG: 4.3
FG %: 60.0
3-pt FG %: 41.1

Two 30+ point scorers out of 50 teams, and both played on the same team! Wills started out the summer on an absolute tear, going for 33, 40, and 35 in his first 3 games. He never let his foot off the gas, as he and Grant Polk were the talk of the summer every time they took the court. Wills went for 30+ in 5 of his 8 games and helped lead St. Albans to a 7-1 record. Wills was able to score on all three levels, making him one of the most unguardable players in the league.

Aidan Able
John Carroll
PPG: 21.0
APG: 2.1
RPG: 4.5

John Carroll finished summer league at 6-2 and Aidan Able was the catalyst.  Able finished 9th of all qualified scorers (5 games minimum) including a 40 point game in an overtime win against St. Albans. Able gets most of his work down low which allows him to get to the free throw line at ease, where he is an efficient 83% on 52 attempts.  JC entered the playoffs as the 13 seed and made a run to the semifinals.  A fantastic summer for John Carroll and Aidan Able.

Kaylen Chilton
Cavaliers (CG Woodson)
PPG: 23.5
APG: 2.8
RPG: 5.9

The #1 breakout team of the summer was CG Woodson, led by Kaylen Chilton. Chilton was electric all summer long and led Woodson to an undefeated record. This marks the first time a public school team went undefeated in 3+ years in summer league. Chilton finished 6th in scoring while playing in all 8 games and was one of the most electric guards in the league.

Akim Iscandari
Potomac School
PPG: 21.9
APG: 4.5
RPG: 6.0
Steals Per Game: 3.6

Akim Iscandari was a Swiss Army Knife this summer, averaging 21.9 points, 4.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game on over 54% shooting for The Potomac School, which posted a 6-2 record.. Iscandari’s defensive prowess was also on display with 3.6 steals per game, good for third-best in the league. His ability to generate steals often led to fast-break opportunities, including a clutch steal and score in the final seconds of regulation against RM to send the game to OT.  Iscandari and The Potomac School are trending up.

Andrew Maria
Yorktown
PPG: 26.6
RPG: 6.0
FG %: 58.9
3-pt FG %: 40.0

Andrew Maria opened up a lot of eyes this summer as he finished 3rd in the league in scoring at 26.6 PPG, playing all 8 games.. Maria was elite in transition and getting downhill, and frequently showcased his athleticism with big time dunks. His 49 points on 20-27 shooting vs Flint Hill on 5/31 was the highest-scoring individual game in summer league history.

Qayden Samuels
McNamara
PPG: 25.0
RPG: 7.8
3-pt FG %: 46.2

Samuels’ ascension toward the top of the class of 2026 continued this summer as the 6’5″ lefty finished 4th in scoring at 25 PPG. Samuels’ versatility is eye-opening as he can do everything on the court for the Mustangs. Samuels had back-to-back 30-ball games vs. Riverdale and Jackson Reed and shot a very impressive 46.2% from 3.  There’s no surprise why college coaches came out in droves to see McNamara at DMV Live.

Kade Sebastian
DeMatha
PPG: 10.4
APG: 2.4
FG %: 44.1
3-pt FG %: 38.9

DeMatha’s summer league dominance continued in 2024 as the Stags went undefeated during the regular season for the 2nd time in 3 years and are now 27-1 in the past 3 regular seasons. While the Stags had a very balanced attack, it is Kade Sebastian who claims first-team honors. Sebastian played in all eight games for the Stags and is one of six guys who averaged between 8 and 10.6 PPG. Sebastian led the Stags in 3 pointers made and steals and is one of the best defenders in summer league.

Caleb Thomas
Spring Mills
PPG: 13.9
APG: 6.4
RPG: 8.9
Blocks Per Game: 3.8
FG %: 61.3

Caleb Thomas lived in the paint on both sides of the ball for Spring Mills. At 6’7″, Thomas led the league in blocks with 3.8 per game while also posting 13.9 points, 6.4 assists, and 8.9 rebounds per game. Thomas was able to be an efficient slasher due to his size and quickness, which allowed him to shoot the ball at a 61.3% clip. Thomas has a case to be the best two-way wing in the league and helped Spring Mills earn a playoff spot.

Cameron Young
Cardozo
PPG: 20.4
APG: 4.9
RPG: 3.8
Steals Per Game: 4.4

Cameron Young had a fantastic season for Cardozo in their first season in the CHSL. The dynamic guard was the summer league steals leader at 4.4 per game. It marked the 2nd year in a row that the summer league steals leader was a DCIAA product (Joseph McRae in 2023). He was a serious stat stuffer across the board and led Cardozo to a 7-1 record and the #4 seed in the playoffs.
