Capitol Summer League All – Teams and MVP is a regular season award only and is judged on a minimum of 5 games played in Summer League. Nonetheless your Capitol Hoops Summer League 1st Team, Second Team, and Third Team, and Honorable Mention Teams for 2026 are below.
Gabe Colston – JFK Summer League MVP
Gabe Colston is a 6-foot-4 guard in the Class of 2027 who plays for Team Takeover in AAU. Gabe’s highlight game this year was in the win over Crofton, 58-39, on May 27, where he dropped an outstanding 38 points, 14 rebounds, 7 steals, 3 blocks, and 2 assists, doing a little bit of everything. Colston was named Capitol Hoops Summer League MVP after averaging 28 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. He averaged almost 30 points a game, and these games were a regularity for him, as he had three 30-point games this summer. He helped lead Kennedy to a 5-4 record this summer, including the playoffs. Colston’s strength as a shooter is his quick release, which makes him hard to defend. On the defensive end, he uses his quick feet, allowing him to also be a premier defender. This MVP will add to an already full trophy case of awards and honors he has earned, including Montgomery County Player of the Year, 2nd Team Maryland All-State, and 4th Team All-Met. These awards were earned during a great junior season in which he averaged 25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block per game. With this kind of production, Gabe Colston is bound to land at a powerhouse college for basketball.
Jeremiah Williams – Wildcats (WJ)
Jeremiah Williams is a 6-foot-5 guard in the Class of 2029. Jeremiah plays for Boo Williams in AAU and is the son of former NBA legend Jerome Williams. He put the Wildcats on his back at Walter Johnson, leading them to an 8-2 record this summer. Williams’ highlight game was on May 27 in the win over Virginia Academy, 86-78, where he had a double-double with 38 points and 14 rebounds, along with 4 blocks and 3 assists. Jeremiah’s offensive strength is his maturity as a younger guard; he doesn’t take very many bad shots and is a very good decision-maker on the court. Another strength for him offensively is that he makes over 50% of his shots inside the paint. Williams’ ability to cover the court with his lengthy wingspan makes him an ideal defender for many teams, including at the collegiate level. He is averaging 28.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. The young guard with these kinds of video game numbers looks to lead them to a 4A State title.
Drew Hill – St. John’s
Drew Hill is a 6-foot-2 guard in the Class of 2028 and plays for Heart and Hustle in AAU ball. Drew, who played on St. John’s junior varsity team last year, made a statement this summer with his play. Hill averaged 22.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals. He is shooting an impressive 52.8% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range. The rising junior’s strength offensively is his ability to get to his spots and knock them down with such high consistency. Defensively, his ability to get boards as a guard is so impressive. Drew’s highlight day this summer was when he combined for 63 points with 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Drew definitely made a statement in front of St. John’s coaches and to the fans that he is one of the best guards in the DMV.
Donovan Wright – DeMatha
Donovan “Donny” Wright is a 6-foot-1 guard, Class of 2027, and plays for Virginia Elite on the AAU circuit. Offensively, he is a true three-level scorer; he can create offense from anywhere. This summer, he is averaging 1.9 steals per game and routinely accepts the challenge of guarding the opposition’s top offensive player. Wright’s highlight game came on May 31 against Bullis, where he had 19 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. The senior helped lead the Stags to a 9-2 record this summer and was the team’s go-to scorer. With this kind of production in summer, it is only a preview of what is to come for this DeMatha star.
Blake Fitzgerald – Flint Hill
Blake Fitzgerald is 6-foot-7 and plays for Team AKT in AAU ball and is in the Class of 2028. Offensively, he is an inside-out wing who can score both on the perimeter and near the rim. He’s able to score at the rim by his great ability to drive downhill. Defensively, his motor on the defensive end, coupled with his size, allows him to wreak havoc. Blake and teammate Dylan Fletcher were a force to be reckoned with, leading Flint Hill to an 8-2 record this summer, including the playoffs. Fitzgerald averaged a double-double with 16.6 points and 12.4 rebounds, along with 1.3 assists and 1.4 steals. In his third summer league campaign, he averaged 46.3% from the field and 79.1% from the line. He led his team in rebounds, steals, blocks (1.8), and points. His highlight game came on May 26 in the win over the Bengals (Blake), 73-65, where he had 25 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. With this kind of offensive production, the Huskies are bound for success in the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC).
Jordan Fox – Purple Storm (DOZA)
Jordan Fox is a six-foot-two guard in the Class of 2028 who plays for New World on the AAU circuit. He is a legitimate threat from anywhere on the court and can score from all three levels. Fox averaged 27.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. He also showed great leadership throughout the season, helping his team win games. Defensively, he showed his impact, averaging 2.6 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. Very high ceiling for Jordan, as he still has two more years of high school hoops.

Garland averaged 18.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, utilizing his athleticism and skill to score from everywhere. Mahan scores at an elite level from all three levels, averaging 19.4 points per game on 51.7% from the field, 52.3% from three, and 80.3% from the line. His defensive impact was shown with 2.4 blocks and 1.4 steals per game. His long frame, along with his game IQ, allowed him to be a threat in every facet of the game. Avery has already picked up multiple Division I offers and will continue to improve in his next two years of high school before going to the next level.
Will Braun-Duin – John Handley
Will Braun-Duin is a six-foot-three combo guard who plays for Team Melo on the EYBL circuit. Braun-Duin averaged 28.6 points per game behind stellar scoring outings, including 56- and 40-point games on the same day. He also averaged 7.8 rebounds per game, showing that he can impact the game on the glass as well.
