Lanham’s shooting struggle results in a 55-35 loss against Tech Prep.  

Tech Prep got off to a dominant start with a 9-0 lead at the 12:22 mark. It seemed that Lanham shot many threes early in the game which got them into trouble as they didn’t hit those shots. Lanham scored their second bucket at the 7:20 mark, cutting Tech Prep’s lead to 12. Tech Prep was very aggressive on defense, causing Lanham to shoot forced shots in the paint and resulting in Lanham’s 13% field goal percentage in the first half. ‘25 center Nazaire Hinton was a key contributor on offense and defense for Tech Prep in the first half, scoring 8 points on 3-3 shooting from the field and collecting 4 blocks. ‘26 guard Diego Joy was a key contributor for Lanham, scoring 9 points in the first half. Despite Joy’s efforts, Lanham failed to hit a three pointer in the first half going 0-12 and Tech Prep’s lead extended to 14 with 1:30 left in the first half. Tech Prep had a comfortable lead at the half with a score of 27-13.

Tech Prep forced a shot clock violation on Lanham the first play of the second half but they turned the ball over the following play which resulted in an and-1 for Lanham. ‘26 guard Diego Joy hit the first three pointer for Lanham which cut Tech Prep’s lead to 9. Tech Prep’s comfortable lead had vanished as Lanham fought back to come within 6 points of Lanham with 11 minutes left to play in the game. Diego Joy proved to be just as gifted a scorer in the second half as he was in the first, scoring 11 this half. However, Tech Prep used their offensive weapons in guards Daniel Bumpass (‘25) and David Bumpass (‘25) who had 11 and 9 points respectively to expand their lead to 13 with 5 minutes left in the game. Lanham continued to struggle from the three, shooting 12% in the second half. Tech Prep eclipsed a 20 point lead at the 1:12 mark and they went on to win the game 55-35.

While Lanham Christian will look to bounce back against the Mustangs (Meade), Tech Prep will look to continue dominant play against the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson).
