Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) vs Tech Prep

Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) holds on to a key opening day victory against Friendship Tech Prep with a final score of 73-68. 

Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) marched out to an early lead as Christopher Henderson was able to get in the lane at will and had a couple of midrange jumpers. However, Tech Prep was able to stay in the game by getting to the free throw line as Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) had 12 fouls in the first half. Rontay Hall for Tech Prep led the way defensively forcing multiple turnovers. 

Joebari Parson led a comeback for Tech Prep with a couple of and-1s and a pair of free throws as he had 14 points in the first half. Christopher Henderson was able to halt Prep’s momentum with a pull up three, leading Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) with 16 points in the first half. Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) went into halftime with a 36-28 lead. 

In the second half, Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) came out firing thanks to the defensive efforts of Jeremiah Smith and Jeremiah Edon. Edon had a steal resulting in a transition layup, which extended Good Fellas’ lead to 12 with 13 minutes left to play. 

Led by brother duo, David and Daniel Bumpass, along with Joebari Parson, Tech Prep clawed back into the game. David Bumpass had a couple of steals leading to highlight dunks on the other end. And Parson continued to get to the line and make his presence known on the defensive end.  

Despite coming back from multiple double digit deficits, Tech Prep was unable to claim the victory as Ephraim Johnson knocked down two crucial free throws to extend the lead to three. Henderson followed up with a steal and a monstrous dunk to seal the victory for Good Fellas (Oxon Hill). 

Good Fellas (Oxon Hill) will take on Gaithersburg next as they look to stay strong, and Tech Prep will look to bounce back against Sandy Spring this Wednesday.
