R.W.E Lions (Largo) vs McNamara

Day 3 of the Capitol Hoops summer league began with a decisive 101 – 76 victory for McNamara over the R.W.E. Lions (Largo). The game was fast-paced the whole way through, both teams playing above the rim, as multiple players for both schools recorded highlight dunks. McNamara found success on the glass out-rebounding the Lions 47 – 33, and grabbing 11 on the offensive end. Mcnamara did a nice job of finding the open guy as well, tallying 23 assists on the day. Today’s game was a result of McNamara taking better shots as they shot over 50% for the day, as well as having three players scoring 20 or more points for a balanced scoring attack. Standout player Cam Ward for the Lions scored 40 points on 14 – 22 shooting as well as 12 rebounds, but his teamates failed to find the same success only shooting 12-40 at a 30% clip. The Lions struggled from deep, only making 3 out of 19 three point shots attempted compared to McNamara’s 11 – 25. The Lions, hoping to erase the 15 – point deficit at halftime shot worse from the field in the second half, and their troubles getting back on defense led to continued easy baskets for McNamara that not even a 40 point effort from Ward could combat, as McNamara cruised to the 25 point victory. McNamara looks to improve to 2-0 against Brandywine Boyz on June 2nd, and the Lions look to get back in the win column, and improve to 2-1 against Bullis on June 4th.
