Brandywine Boyz ( Gwynn Park) defeated New Hope Academy 73 – 47 to begin day four of the Capitol Hoops Summer League. Brandywine played fast – paced, above the rim, and shared the ball well for easy baskets on offense, and played physically on defense to force 19 New Hope Academy turnovers. New Hope’s lack of taking care of the ball led to an offensive surge for Brandywine in the first half, where easy chances around the rim gave Brandywine a 46 – 15 lead. While New Hope outscored Brandywine in the second half, 24 points off turnovers and 18 second chance points for Brandywine was too much for New Hope to come back from. Brandywine continued their recipe for an offensive clinic as they tallied 16 assists as a team and 18 offensive rebounds, giving four of their five starters double figures in points on the day. A talented trio of Ty Bevins, DeMarcus Daniels, and Tony Pope III look to continue their success, and move to 3-0 in what will be a highly anticipated matchup of unbeatens with their contest against McNamara on June 2nd. New Hope Academy will look to earn their first win of the summer against the Mustangs (Meade).
