It was a close one as BCC pulled away in the final seconds against the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) to win the game 53-48. 

Woodson proved they can shoot the 3 from deep, shooting 33%. ‘Woodson ‘25 guard Theo Burke had a hot hand in the first half, scoring 7 points on 3-4 shooting which helped Woodson gain a 6 point lead at the 13:19 mark. As BCC struggled from 3, shooting 14%, Woodson’s lead, the largest lead of the half, increased to 12 at the 8:30 mark. However, ‘24 big man Adam Strong-Jacobson was a key scorer for BCC, scoring 9 points on 4-5 shooting in the first half with 8 of those points going towards BCC’s 10 2nd chance points. BCC was the more physical team, scoring 18 points in the paint while the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) scored 10 points in the paint. As BCC’s inside game was promising, they were able to cut the lead down to 4. Woodson had a 4 point lead heading into the second half with a score of 28-24.

The game was tied at 32 a piece at the 13:00 mark but BCC took their first lead of the game at the 12:00 mark in large part due to ‘25 guard Cameron Rothstein-Epp who contributed 12 points in the competition, and 6 in the 2nd half. Woodson took the lead back with 8 minutes to go in the game thanks to Theo Burke being a reliable scorer for Woodson in the second half on 6-9 shooting from the field. The game went back and forth the last five minutes with both teams being within one possession of each other. Interestingly enough, both teams had 4 turnovers in the 2nd half and the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) scored 6 points off turnovers while BCC scored 7.  Both teams took care of the ball and made sure to make the other team pay for their mistakes. 

BCC gained a 6 point lead with 3 minutes to go but Woodson cut the lead down to three with a 3 pointer of their own. BCC led by 5 with 45 seconds left. Woodson ‘26 guard Ryan Corallo was fouled on a three point shot attempt and was put on the line for 3. He completed 2 out of the 3 free throws to cut BCC’s lead down to 3 with 30 seconds left. BCC forced Woodson to foul them and they pulled off the nail-biting win 53-48. 

BCC came back in the second half and two important factors include out rebounding the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) 40-26 and out scoring them in the paint 42-20. BCC scored 24 more points in the paint in the second half while the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) scored 10 more points in the paint in the second half. This pretty much sums up the aggression BCC played with in the 2nd half. 

BCC will look to stay aggressive against The Heights later today, and the Cavaliers (W.T. Woodson) will look to bounce back against Tech Prep on Tuesday at Dematha.
