Alexandria City vs Good Counsel

Alexandria started penetrating Good Counsel’s defense early, with their first 12 baskets being layups. Despite Alexanderia City’s fifth player not showing up until right before the game started, they created an excellent 12-4 lead. Good Counsel struggled with shooting in the early minutes of this half. Within the final three minutes of the half, they caught a rhythm and put 16 points on the board to Alexandria’s 27. Good Counsel guard Neiko Mundey played a good game this half, scoring 7 points. On Alexandria’s end, guard Kye Robinson was the catalyst of their dominant performance, scoring 11 points. Alexandria City went into the half leading 32-24. Alexandria again penetrated the defense and proved that shooting in this game wasn’t necessary. They dominated in the second half by saying patient and keeping their eyes on the rim. In addition, all of Alexandria’s players played loose in the second half. Alexandria won the game 63-48.

Good Counsel is currently 4-5 and needs a win against Flint Hill later tonight to improve to 5-5 in order to qualify for the playoffs. Alexandria City currently sits at the 9th seed with a 6-2 record. They look to stay strong against the Bruins (Broadneck) in hopes of improving to 7-2.
