The final game that would conclude day 2 of the summer league consisted of guard play between the Screaming Eagles and Grindhouse. During the 1st half, it was clear that both teams were able to get to the basket at ease, with the guards handling the ball. Huntingtown used their size to their advantage by scoring in the paint, and when the defense collapsed, they had shooters all around the perimeter. From rising senior Trey Smith to rising junior Brayden Porter. With the shots made from the perimeter, Huntingtown went on a
run, including an impressive putback dunk from 2026 Eli Washington, giving them momentum with a lead of 27-14 going into halftime.
With the momentum shift that took place in the 1 st half, Huntingtown had an agenda to capitalize on that. Seneca Valley was able to cut the gap by pressuring the guards of Huntingtown and creating easy baskets in transition. Seneca Valley went on a run of their
own with the help of 2026 Malachi Delaware. Delaware was able to get to the basket with ease, creating more opportunities for his teammates, with the occasional three-pointers that were able to make the game close. Overall, it was Washington’s pace and control of the game that led to the 47-41 win over Seneca Valley. Washington affected the game more than just his scoring and athleticism, but his effort on the defensive end that led to multiple opportunities for Huntingtown. He finished with 14 points and 4 assists. Huntingtown also had great contributions from Trey Smith (10 points) and Tyson Powell (10 points). Malachi Delaware (Seneca Valley) finished the game with 19 points, showing his ability to get to the rim, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough because of the depth of Huntingtown.
