It was a close battle early on, with Southern Christian holding a slim 2-point lead with 5:55 left in the first half. The game was fast-paced and physical, with both teams forcing turnovers and applying tough defensive pressure. Both sides ran small-ball lineups, and it paid off initially, as Southern Christian closed the half with a 6-point lead.

Southern Christian’s No. 3, Semaj Carter, stood out in the first half with an energetic performance, finishing with 7 points, 1 block, and 2 steals. For Huntingtown, Eli Washington led the way with 8 points, but struggled from the field, shooting just 4-of-11.

To begin the second half, Southern Christian went on a run to push the lead to 7 points. The heart and hustle from their guards were unmatched. With 10:13 left in the game, Huntingtown began to close the gap, bringing in their No. 13—a tall, long, big man—to combat Southern Christian’s speed and size.

At the midway point of the second half, Southern Christian was still up by six, but allowed Huntingtown to hang around. One standout performer was Tyson Powell, who was everywhere on the floor. His hustle, especially on the boards, made a huge impact, and no one matched his energy on either team.

Southern Christian eventually pulled away, securing a 64–48 win behind a breakout performance from Powell.
