The Capitol Hoops Summer League is officially two weeks into its season. Here are some of the stars that delivered for their teams as play intensity has picked up.
Aidan Able (John Carroll) — 4G, 27 PPG, 5 RPG
This week’s top point scorer was Aidan Able. Able plays aggressively and fast, and he is the target man for John Carroll. He is an insanely high-volume player who takes a majority of the team’s shots, and that speaks to how much they trust him to get them points on the board. In their win against Bethel Academy, he scored 36 points, the highest that anyone has put up this summer.
Gabe Colston (JFK Kennedy) — 3G, 26 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 56% FG
A consistent performer in Week 1, Gabe Colston turned into an absolute animal in Week 2. The 6’3 guard is a special three-point shooter, but his downhill production is similarly impossible to replicate. He’s not afraid to get in the paint and grab some rebounds, averaging more than 6 per game. He is for sure one of the most talented pure scorers in this league, scoring 33, 24, and 21 points this week. Expect another set of well-rounded and explosive performances from Colston in Week 3.
Elijah Gaskins (Patriot) — 2G, 28.5 PPG, 6 RPG, 4 APG
A quiet but lethal force, Gaskins exploded in the scoring category in the second week of play. leading average points this week. The 2026 guard led in average points this week (35 and 22, respectively), a large part due to his ability to get to the rim with force. He’s a solid playmaker across the court who’s not missing many of the shots he takes alone, shooting 71% from the field. At just 6’2″, he has the hops to get up for a dunk as well. Gaskins will continue to be a weapon for a well-rounded Patriot squad that remains undefeated.
Will Braun-Duin (John Handley) — 4G, 22.3 PPG, 9.3 RPG
Shooting just over 50%, Braun-Duin is another rebounding guard who can shoot the lights out of whatever gym he’s in. When he scores 21 or more points, John Handley is 2-0. They rely on him a ton, and even in games where the team lost, he’s scored 16 and 20. He is creative and intense to play against, and I think the road only gets more difficult for teams trying to defend against him in their remaining games.
Andrew Maria (Bethel Academy) — 3G, 20 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2.5 APG
A returner to this list, Andrew Maria, has continued to shine as games continued. The 2026 guard and forward has consistently been one of the best players in the entire Summer League. Being new to Bethel Academy, it has been intriguing to see how much they rely on him. In four games, he has taken 22, 16, 15, and 8 shots, which are usually extortionate numbers until you realize that he shoots 60.7% from the field. At 6’6, he has a special ability to haul in rebounds, which makes him borderline unstoppable.
Honorable mentions:
Frank Siaca Bay (Fairfax Christian) – 3G, 20 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 80.6% FG
Nate McComb (Lake Braddock) – 1G, 23 PTS, 15 RB
Greg Taylor (Pallotti) – 3G, 16.7 PPG, 63.2% FG
Chase Mitchell (Patriots) – 22 PPG, 5.3 RPG
Johnny Anderson (South County) – 19.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG
