Martin Somerville – McNamara, 2024 Guard #10

  • Vs. Sandy Spring: (L) 33 pts, 10 reb, 5 ast, 11-19 FG, 8-14 3pt, 0 TO
  • Vs. Brandywine Boyz: (W) 17 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, stl, 2 blk, 7-13 FG, 3-8 3pt

The 6’1” guard was the lone bright spot in McNamara’s upset loss to Sandy Spring this past week. Not only did Somerville step up in the absence of Jeremiah Quigley, he has made one of the biggest leaps in all of summer league. Martin Somerville has evolved into a better assist man for his teammates, and grown into a more aggressive decision maker on the offensive side of the ball.

Solomon Hillman – Eagles White, 2023 Wing #15

  • Vs. Severn: (L) 25 pts, 9 reb, ast, stl, 3 blk, 10-20 FG, 5-7 FT
  • Vs. Bullis: (L) 21 pts, 5 reb, ast, stl, 9-15 FG
  • Vs. Tenley Tigers: (L) 12 pts, 9 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl, 2 blk, 4-9 FG, 1-2 3pt

Solomon Hillman shot the ball more efficiently in week four, and used that to unlock other areas of his game. The rising senior attacked the boards, and looked rejuvenated after his scoring outbursts against Bullis and Severn.

Nykolas Lewis – Gonzaga, 2025 Guard #5

                • Vs. Georgetown Prep: (L) 21 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast, 6 stl, blk, 7-10 FT
                • Vs. St. Mary’s Annapolis: (W) 19 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast, 2 stl, blk, 3-7 3pt

With Nykolas Lewis running the show, the future is Bright for Gonzaga basketball. Once again the point guard had a great week and was the driving force for them in their rivalry matchup with Georgetown Prep.

Dante Mayo – Rockets, 2024 Guard #3

  • Vs. Severn: (W) 27 pts, 9 reb, ast, stl, blk, 9-17 FG, 6-12 3pt, 0 TO
  • Vs. The Heights: (L) 24 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 7-16 3pt, 3-3 FT, 0 TO
  • Vs. DeMatha: (L) 21 pts, 6 reb, ast, 2 stl, 5-11 3pt

Dante Mayo plays with amnesia. It doesn’t matter if his shot is falling or not, either way he’ll run back on the next play looking to pull the trigger. Oftentimes this leads to players chucking up bad shots, but Mayo seems to balance the confidence he has in his shot with his desire to make the best play for the team.

Isaiah Arnold – DeMatha, 2023 Guard #4

  • Vs. Bullis: (W) 29 pts, reb, 2 ast, stl, 10-12 FG, 9-11 3pt

The shooting display by DeMatha’s Isaiah Arnold might be the best we’ll see all summer. The host team this summer is undefeated, and have needed players like Arnold to step up and help them in the scoring column. In a hard fought win against an impressive Bullis team, Isaiah Arnold did just that and more. Arnold will be an exciting player to watch in the playoffs.

Lee Bruner – Georgetown Prep, 2024 Guard #2

  • Vs. Gonzaga: (W) 19 pts, 5 reb, 7 ast, 6-8 FG, 1-1 3pt
  • Vs. Spalding: (W) 12 pts, 3 reb, 3 ast, stl, 6-6 FG

Georgetown Prep had a huge win against Gonzaga this week, and Lee Bruner was the main reason why. Bruner attacked the rim and was able to get up nine free throw attempts, while also using his aggressive play to create opportunities for teammates as he dished out a game high seven assists.

Rejuan Grey – Takoma Academy, 2023 Wing #40

  • Vs. Bulldogs: (W) 21 pts, 8 reb, 3 ast, stl, 7-14 FG, 2-4 3pt, 5-5 FT
  • Vs. Good Fellas: (W) 15 pts, 12 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl, 3 blk, 6-9 FG, 1-2 3pt

Takoma Academy has had a great summer built off of a strong core group of guys. Rejuan Grey can score at multiple levels and uses his long arms to defend opponents down low and around the perimeter.

Isaiah Payne – Good Fellas, 2022 Guard #1

            • Vs. Takoma Academy: (L) 26 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 4 stl, 4-6 3pt, 6-9 FT
            • Vs. Wolverines: (L) 22 pts, 2 reb, 7 ast, 7 stl, 8-11 FT

Seven steals combined with seven assists is a monster statline. Payne was fun to watch and impressive against Takoma Academy’s talented defenders, and a headache to deal with on pick n rolls.

Cyrus Chisolm – Sandy Spring, 2023 Guard #11

  • Vs. McNamara: (W) 22 pts, 8 reb, 5 ast, 4 stl, 3 blk, 10-14 FT

Sandy Spring had the upset of the summer with a big win over McNamara last week. Chisholm has been one of the more underappreciated players in summer league, and continues to be the head of the snake for his Sandy Spring team. A phenomenal rebounder for his size, the guard flirts with a double double every time he steps on to the court.

Rob Dockery – Tenley Tigers, 2024 Forward #2

  • Vs. Trojans: (W) 18 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, stl, blk, 8-15 FG, 2-5 3pt
  • Vs. Eagles White: (W) 14 pts, 9 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 2 blk, 0 TO

Rob Dockery might have the highest ceiling in all of summer league. When the point forward is aggressive, hardly any team can prevent the Tenley Tigers from scoring. Dockery is the type of player any hooper would love to play with. An alert big who plays with intensity whether he’s bringing the ball up the court, or fighting for positioning down low.
