McNamara defeated Greenbelt (Eleanor Roosevelt) in dominant fashion with a final score of 92-72.
McNamara was the more physical team as they dominated on the boards from the start. With ‘26 guard Prince-Alexander Moody scoring 18 points, he set the tone and allowed his teammates to play more relaxed as he had 6 assists to go with it. When jumpers weren’t falling, ‘27 Jordan Taylor and ‘26 Qayden Samuels were there to clean up the boards.
‘25 guard Mason Douglas and ‘25 guard Gio Sanford created a nice backcourt for Greenbelt (Eleanor Roosevelt) with 19 points and 27 points respectively. However, it was all McNamara as they didn’t allow Greenbelt (Eleanor Roosevelt) to take comfortable shots and forced them to turn the ball over 18 times.
Although the end result was a 20-piece, the game was in reach of Greenbelt (Eleanor Roosevelt) with the score being 52-37at the half. However, Prince-Alexander Moody’s unselfish play overwhelmed Greenbelt (Eleanor Roosevelt) as the ball shifted to the corner and the defense didn’t rotate fast enough many times.
McNamara will look to continue their unselfish play against South Lakes on Sunday morning, and Greenbelt (Eleanor Roosevelt) will look to play more aggressive against BCC on Sunday evening.
