Flint Hill vs Seahawks (South River) – Capitol Hoops Summer League

Flint Hill bounces back from a devastating overtime loss to Riverdale Baptist, as they beat the Seahawks, 90-38.

Flint Hill set the tone with full-court pressure for the entirety of the first half. Flint Hill picked up the Seahawks guards as soon as the ball was inbounded, allowing for some steals and easy transition baskets.

Ty Harris, Freshman guard for Flint Hill, established his presence early. Harris was able to get the paint consistently and got downhill for some easy layups, resulting in a 21-10 lead for Flint Hill with 10:30 left to play in the first half. Jack Loyd (‘25, G) gave Flint Hill a nice tandem in the backcourt as Loyd found his shot from behind the arc.

In the second half, Flint Hill continued their on-ball pressure as they ended the game with ten steals. Quin Gorman (‘24, F) shined as the Flint Hill big man was a force down low. Gorman finished the game with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Flint Hills’ backcourt tandem continued their excellence as Harris finished the game with nine points and seven assists. Loyd finished with 25 points as he earned Player of the Game.

After back-to-back days, Flint Hill will not play until June 7th when they take on Cadets (Frederick). The Seahawks will face the Trojans (Gaithersburg) on June 2nd.
