Sandy Spring vs Tech Prep

Sandy Spring remains undefeated to start the season, beating Tech Prep 51-45. 

Sandy Spring took control from the start, jumping out to an 8-0 lead. David Bumpass responded for Tech Prep, getting out in transition and getting to the free throw line, ending the half with 11 points. However, Sandy Spring did a good job of giving Bumpass tough shots and sped him up, forcing him into four first-half turnovers.  

On the offensive end, Sandy Spring fed Jake Tringone down low. Tringone had a couple of post finishes and notched eight rebounds in the first half.  

Despite giving up 9 offensive rebounds, Sandy Spring made it tough for Tech Prep to get anything going offensively. Sandy Spring did a great job of limiting Joebari Parson, who had 31 points in Tech Prep’s opening game. Sandy Spring took a 24-19 into the half. 

Sandy Spring jumped out to a 7-0 run to the start half. Nazaire Hinton stunted Sandy Spring’s momentum with a pair of blocks and a nice midrange jumper. However, Darion Sardo helped Sandy Spring stay in command with three second-half jumpers from behind the arc.   

David Bumpass helped Tech Prep stay in it by getting to the free throw line, making 11 free throws in the game. But his effort wasn’t enough as Sandy Spring stayed poised down the stretch and hit their free throws.   

Sandy Spring will look to stay hot this Thursday against the Trojans. Tech Prep will try to snap their winless start against John Carroll on June 3rd.
