Bullis vs Patriot

As the first week of Capitol Hoops Summer League came to an end, Bullis faced off against Patriot for a powerful and competitive matchup. Bullis carried their momentum from the beginning through to the end of the game, resulting in a 67-41 win for Bullis.

With the first half underway, Bullis creates energy with their impressive man to man defense, capitalizing off of their size compared to Patriot to dominate in terms of rebounds and put backs. As Patriot worked to find their shot and get in their groove, Bullis incorporated a full court press, and Patriot began to struggle to maintain composure offensively. 

Bullis duo Adrian Stevens (‘25) and Tyler Boston (‘24) created for their team and for themselves, Stevens capitalizing offensively, drawing fouls and driving to the rim for a couple strong finishes, Boston maintaining the defensive pressure to collect a couple steals and forcing turnovers. As Patriot struggled to compete with Bullis’ quick transitioning and solid momentum, Bullis led at the end of the first half, 36-12.

Similarly to the first half, Bullis took advantage of their speed as well as their size compared to Patriot to maintain their significant lead as the second half elapsed. Bullis’ Eric Reibe (‘25) used his significant height advantage and post move ability to easily finish and dominate at the rim, to contribute to his 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks he had in the matchup.

As Patriot continued to fight, working to find an open shot and compete with Bullis’ speed of play, Bullis continued to dominate. While both teams did not let up their effort nor their pressure, Patriot faced a tough loss as the game ended with an impressive performance and significant 67-42 win for Bullis.
