They collectively shot 51% from the field. With only 7 minutes played in the first half, BCC had a double digit lead over The Heights with a score of 26-12. However, with a major scoring contribution from ’24 guard Anthony who went 9-12 from the free throw line, had 13 points and 12 rebounds in the first half, The Heights were kept afloat. Additionally, The Heights ‘24 guard Michael Byrne hit some shots of his own, shooting 2-6 from the 3 and scoring 9 points in the first half. 2nd half
BCC scored 10 points within 4 minutes of playing in the second half while The Heights scored 9. Big man Adam Strong-Jacobson (‘24) played well in the post for BCC in the 2nd half, collecting 4 rebounds. Anthony Fountain finished with 18 rebounds but that wasn’t enough as The Heights were out rebounded 51-31. Of the 31 rebounds The Heights got, only 5 were offensive. The Heights’ Anthony Fountain got to the line a couple of times this half but besides that, The Heights’ scoring slowed up which allowed BCC to play at a comfortable pace which would lead to them scoring an additional 10 points with 4 minutes left to play. With 2 minutes left in the game, Anthony Fountain hit a three which cut BCC’s lead to 5 (67-62). A flagrant foul occurred which put The Heights guard Michael Byrne, who was 6-7 from the free throw line this game, at the line. He completed both free throws and The Heights were only down by 3 with 39 seconds to go. BCC had possession with 24 seconds left and scored another bucket to put the nail in the coffin. BCC won the game 70-64.
BCC will look to stay dominant against St. Albans on Sunday morning at Dematha, and The Heights will also play St. Albans on Monday night and look to bounce back.
