Mustangs (Meade) vs Bullis

A couple weeks into Capitol Hoops Summer League at DeMatha, undefeated Bullis competed against the Mustangs of Meade for a game full of skill and good basketball. Bullis dominated once again, as the Mustangs lost 49-78.

 

As the game began, Bullis gained early momentum despite an early integrated full court press by Meade. The fast paced, physical game forced both teams to work on staying composed, as Bullis tried to find their shot and Meade worked to finish strong. With Bullis’ Eric Reibe (‘25) and Meade’s Lucaya Baldridge (‘25) battling against each other in the paint showing grit and perseverance, both teams fought, Meade trying to use their agility to their advantage as Bullis worked to use their ability to transition quickly.

 

As the second half came to an end, Bullis aimed up their energy and scoring, leaving them up at the half, 39-20.

 

As the second half of the intense matchup started, Meade came out hitting their shots and trying to find their rhythm, while still trying to remain composed, despite giving up a few early team fouls to give Bullis a few free throws. With Meade continuing to hit their shots and find some energy, Bullis increased their physicality and intensity as well, continuing to keep a quick pace and work to dominate as a team both offensively and defensively. 

 

As the final half digressed, Bullis proved their consistent dominance as a team, hitting their shots and capitalizing on defense. Though Meade put up an impressive and hard fight, Bullis kept their record clean, with a solid 78-49 win.
