Two summer league veterans highlighted Court One’s final matchup of CHSL Day Three. Good Counsel made its first Summer League appearance, looking to reset after a rough high school campaign that ended in eight straight losses. The Cavaliers saw CHSL action the previous night, just edging out Forest Park 66-65.
The four-year Summer League vets were competitive from the start. Good Counsel and the Cavaliers (CG Woodsen) went point for point through the first half with eight lead changes.
The Falcons broke out and took a slight edge in the final five minutes, led by Kyle Brown. The 2028 guard put up 10 points towards his team’s 31-26 halftime lead. 2027 John Bancroft and 2029 Zach Tchoubfong put up eight and seven points, respectively.
Kaylen Chilton dazzled for the Cavaliers for the second straight day, putting up 12 before halftime and going 5-12 from the field. The 2024 CHSL All-Star finished the day with 16 points.
That back-and-forth energy ended quickly as the Cavaliers wouldn’t see another game lead. Brown continued to shine, finishing with 26 points, while Good Counsel as a whole shot 43.3% from the field. The Cavaliers dropped their FG% from 42.3% to 34.6% across the halves.
